This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create and implement instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended learning experiences utilizing adult-learning principles and best practices in instructional design.
• Collaborate with CES leadership, subject-matter experts, CES users, participating providers, and program leaders.
• Stay updated on CES policies, operational procedures, assessment practices, referral workflows, implementation requirements, and HUD guidelines.
• Assess learner knowledge and performance gaps to identify target audiences, competencies, instructional goals, and measurable learning objectives.
• Develop curricula, course outlines, lesson plans, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, presentations, job aids, FAQs, website tips, and performance-support resources.
• Convert complex policy, procedural, and technical information into accessible instructional content.
• Create instructional graphics, course layouts, user interfaces, storyboards, and final learning products.
• Evaluate training content for technical accuracy, policy compliance, instructional quality, accessibility, consistency, and usability.
• Prepare and present foundational and specialized CES training.
• Conduct in-person training across the Continuum of Care and lead live webinars.
• Utilize demonstrations, exercises, case scenarios, role plays, guided practice, and group discussions.
• Modify delivery methods to suit various roles, provider types, experience levels, technical skills, and familiarity with CES.
• Organize training sessions and workshops, communicating registration details, prerequisites, logistics, materials, and follow-up resources.
• Manage room setup, technology, attendance tracking, instructional materials, and webinar administration.
• Assist with course setup, enrollment, content maintenance, participant access, completion tracking, and reporting on learning-management or training platforms.
• Travel throughout the CoC geography to provide training and support for CES partners.
• Design assessments, knowledge checks, quizzes, skills demonstrations, practice exercises, and course evaluations.
• Analyze assessment results, feedback, attendance, and technical-assistance requests to enhance instruction.
• Perform root cause analyses and suggest actions to CES Management Entity leadership.
• Address training issues and refer policy or procedural concerns to cross-functional CES partners.
• Identify innovative and cost-effective approaches for delivering high-quality training at scale.
• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, adult learning, training and development, human services, public administration, communications, social work, or a related field; an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
• Minimum of two years of directly related experience with Continuum of Care programs and HUD Coordinated Entry programs.
• Experience in preparing and delivering instructor-led, virtual, or online training for professional audiences.
• Proven experience in developing curricula, lesson plans, presentations, eLearning content, tutorials, job aids, or other instructional materials.
• Familiarity with adult-learning principles, instructional-design practices, facilitation methods, and learner assessment.
• Excellent public-speaking, presentation, facilitation, writing, interpersonal, organizational, and project-management skills.
• Ability to clarify technical and policy concepts for learners with varying roles, experience levels, and technical capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a capacity to maintain accurate project, course, and version-control documentation.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Willingness to travel throughout the CoC geography as needed.
• Preferred: Knowledge of the Continuum of Care program and HUD Coordinated Entry requirements.
• Preferred: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Preferred: Skill in collaborating with subject-matter experts and converting complex information into clear learning content.
