This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Spearhead employer and industry engagement initiatives for ASME's apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, and work-based learning programs.
• Develop and maintain enduring relationships with employers in targeted industry sectors, acting as the main point of contact for employer partners.
• Assist in the creation of partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding, and employer commitments.
• Evaluate employer workforce needs, occupational skill requirements, and talent shortages suitable for apprenticeship and work-based learning frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal teams and educational partners to ensure curricula, competencies, and on-the-job training plans meet employer requirements.
• Offer guidance and technical support to employers regarding apprenticeship structures, roles, responsibilities, and advantages.
• Aid in employer onboarding, orientation, and ongoing engagement efforts.
• Foster relationships with industry intermediaries, community colleges, workforce boards, professional organizations, government entities, and other external stakeholders.
• Represent ASME in workforce development and apprenticeship meetings, working groups, and other convenings.
• Coordinate employer involvement in advisory committees and program enhancement activities.
• Contribute to strategies aimed at recruiting employers, partners, and apprentices.
• Facilitate discussions to establish new apprenticeship and work-based learning opportunities.
• Advocate for best practices in mentorship, supervision, and apprentice retention.
• Monitor key performance indicators related to employer engagement and partnership results.
• Assist with grant reporting and suggest data-driven program improvements.
• Help identify workforce development funding and grant opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including philanthropy, on proposals and funder engagement as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in workforce development, education, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and at least five years of relevant professional experience.
• A minimum of five years of experience in apprenticeship, workforce development, or employer engagement.
• Proven experience in building and managing employer or industry partnerships.
• Familiarity with registered apprenticeships, federal workforce systems, RAPIDS, WIOA, community colleges, and grant-funded programs is preferred.
• Excellent relationship-building, stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills for both virtual and in-person formats.
• Ability to translate employer workforce needs into actionable program solutions.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and working cross-functionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and CRM or data-tracking tools, such as Salesforce.
• Dedication to fostering culture and inclusion within workforce development.
• Remote work arrangement.
• Occasional business travel, including trips to ASME offices worldwide.
