This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide onboarding and practical training for newly appointed Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructors.
• Guide instructors on best practices in teaching, classroom management, student engagement, adult learning principles, and effective teaching methods.
• Observe classroom and laboratory teaching and offer constructive feedback for development.
• Develop personalized professional development plans and deliver ongoing coaching.
• Organize workshops, webinars, and professional development sessions for instructors.
• Assist with lesson planning, instructional resources, assessments, classroom technology, and curriculum execution.
• Mentor and guide designated Aviation Maintenance Technician Program Coordinators.
• Facilitate instructor evaluations, performance enhancement initiatives, and the introduction of new instructional standards.
• Disseminate successful practices across campuses to foster consistency and ongoing improvement.
• Aid in curriculum updates, instructional resources, educational technology, and Learning Product initiatives.
• Train instructors and Program Coordinators on new curricula, policies, procedures, teaching tools, and educational platforms.
• Ensure instructional delivery complies with FAA Part 147 requirements, accreditation standards, institutional policies, and approved curricula.
• Travel routinely to assigned campuses for hands-on instructional coaching, mentoring, and operational assistance.
• Collaborate with campus leadership to pinpoint strengths and areas for enhancement.
• Propose strategies to enhance student engagement, retention, certification preparation, and instructional quality.
• Assist with accreditation reviews, FAA inspections, curriculum implementations, and educational initiatives.
• Support organizational change and the implementation of new processes.
• Cultivate relationships with campus and Home Office leadership.
• Create training materials, facilitator guides, instructional resources, and professional development content for instructors.
• Identify instructional trends and suggest enhancements across AIM campuses.
• Participate in Learning Product initiatives and organizational priorities.
• Operate through coaching, mentoring, instructional guidance, professional development, and influence rather than direct supervision.
• Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Ratings.
• At least five years of experience in the aviation maintenance industry.
• Thorough understanding of FAA Part 147 regulations and aviation maintenance education.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, train, and develop others.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Capacity to build trust and influence others without direct supervisory power.
• Proficient in managing relationships and priorities across multiple geographically dispersed campuses.
• Willingness and ability to travel 80–100%, including overnight trips.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and capability to travel by automobile and commercial airline.
• Residence within daily driving distance of an Aviation Institute of Maintenance campus.
• Associate’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Five or more years of teaching experience with demonstrated instructional leadership.
• Experience in classroom management, lesson planning, instructional facilitation, student assessment, and educator development.
• Background in implementing new curricula, instructional initiatives, technologies, or organizational change.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Canvas, and other educational technology platforms.
• Designated Mechanic Examiner (DME) preferred.
• NCATT AET Certification preferred.
• FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
