This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of 1-2 members within the Compliance & Risk department, providing guidance to achieve objectives.
• Act as the primary liaison for clients.
• Manage the workload for the Compliance Administrator and Compliance Analyst.
• Participate in meetings with clients and various stakeholders.
• Take ownership of the monthly compliance reporting process, which includes reviewing, creating content, and distributing reports.
• Ensure timely completion of compliance filings and proper storage of necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with the NERC Implementation team for onboarding new projects.
• Communicate complex compliance requirements to less experienced counterparties.
• Monitor requirements for NERC Generator Owner and Operator Standards and maintain awareness of compliance status at all times.
• Implement and oversee remediation and process improvement activities until completion.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and prioritize the needs of clients.
• Maintain and regularly update compliance policies and procedures.
• Facilitate meetings with external stakeholders and internal teams.
• Address and resolve team challenges.
• Mentor team members in job-specific responsibilities, communication, and collaboration.
• Collaborate with the direct manager on career development and the administration of company policies for the team.
• Suggest updates to division policies.
• Recommend initiatives for team improvement and lead their implementation upon approval.
• At least 2 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically in asset management, business management, contract management, compliance, or operations roles.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in NERC Compliance.
• Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to resolve significant issues.
• Proven skills in documentation, presentation, and communication with teams and both internal and external high-level management.
• A University Degree (or equivalent) with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's/Graduate degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• A degree in business, management, or a related field is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in the domain.
• Preferably, 3+ years of experience managing or supporting a Generator Owner compliance program.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, including NERC, FERC, or other reporting obligations for operating projects is advantageous.
• Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, and presentation is beneficial.
• Capability to take ownership of tasks and pursue them to completion.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to track and manage large volumes of ongoing compliance obligations.
• Ability to lead a team to achieve goals while also collaborating as part of a larger team.
• Skills in coaching and mentoring.
• Basic project management capabilities.
• Ability to communicate with clients and internal teams regarding significant issues that require high-level management involvement.
• Skills in root cause analysis and process improvement.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF tools.
• Knowledge of ERCOT, CAISO, and other ISO/RTO markets, as well as State Public Utilities Commissions and IA/PAA operational requirements, is desirable.
