Regional Trade & Compliance Manager – Asia Pacific

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily import and export compliance operations within the designated Asia-Pacific region

• Ensure the accuracy of trade documentation, customs declarations, export filings, classification, origin, valuation, and regulatory information

• Manage export licensing, conduct denied party screenings, ensure sanctions compliance, oversee embargo controls, and handle technology transfer requirements

• Monitor evolving trade regulations and evaluate their effects on products, customers, supply chains, costs, and operations

• Address customs clearance challenges, shipment delays, regulatory inquiries, and compliance-related issues

• Manage and audit customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party trade service providers

• Collaborate with teams in Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and external partners

• Assist with inquiries, audits, inspections, compliance reviews, and opportunities for trade optimization from government agencies

• Deliver training, conduct risk assessments, perform audits, and lead continuous improvement initiatives

• Uphold Arclin's ownership of compliance decisions and controls

• Report directly to the Director of Global Trade Strategy & Compliance

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Legal Studies, or a related field

• More than 7 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or related areas

• In-depth knowledge of import compliance, export controls, customs valuation, classification, origin, sanctions, and licensing requirements

• Exceptional analytical, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership abilities

• Previous experience in manufacturing, specialty chemicals, industrial products, or similar sectors is preferred

• Proficiency in regional languages: Chinese and English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus

• Customs Broker License is advantageous but not mandatory
