Regional Trade & Compliance Manager, Latin America

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily import and export compliance operations within the designated region.

• Ensure the accuracy of trade documentation, customs declarations, export filings, classification, origin, valuation, and regulatory information.

• Manage export licensing, conduct denied party screenings, ensure sanctions compliance, oversee embargo controls, and fulfill technology transfer requirements.

• Keep abreast of evolving trade regulations and evaluate their effects on products, customers, supply chains, costs, and operational processes.

• Address customs clearance challenges, shipment delays, regulatory inquiries, and compliance-related issues.

• Supervise and audit customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party trade service providers.

• Collaborate with Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and external partners.

• Assist in government agency inquiries, audits, inspections, compliance assessments, and trade optimization initiatives.

• Provide training, perform risk assessments, carry out audits, and implement continuous improvement efforts while maintaining Arclin's ownership of compliance decisions and controls.

• Report directly to the Director of Global Trade Strategy & Compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Legal Studies, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, or related areas.

• In-depth knowledge of import compliance, export controls, customs valuation, classification, origin, sanctions, and licensing requirements.

• Exceptional analytical, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

• Experience in manufacturing, specialty chemicals, industrial products, or similar industries is preferred.

• Proficiency in regional languages: Spanish, Portuguese, English.

• Customs Broker License is a plus but not mandatory.
