This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of electrical specialists in Generation Engineering.
• Provide leadership and management for direct reports, setting objectives related to safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Offer technical guidance and supervision for engineering challenges related to the maintenance and enhancement of generation facilities.
• Direct engineering, procurement, and construction efforts on power plant upgrade projects.
• Conduct technical analyses and assess emerging technologies that align with technical, operational, and financial goals.
• Create and execute team enhancement projects to boost efficiency and quality of deliverables.
• Lead engineering evaluations and provide recommendations, standards, and guidelines for the operation, maintenance, safety, reliability, procurement, construction, and testing of power plants.
• Develop and manage project designs, specifications, and engineered solutions for power plant equipment and systems.
• Contribute to annual budgets for maintenance, safety, and efficiency improvements.
• Establish operating and maintenance standards to enhance the reliability and efficiency of generating facilities.
• Collaborate on project designs with plant representatives, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
• Inspect and assess generating equipment and process conditions, along with project operating and maintenance needs.
• Supervise generation projects to ensure compliance with design criteria, schedules, and budgetary requirements.
• Assist with outages and routine maintenance, including planning, budgeting, business cases, parts/services, and procurement recommendations.
• Work with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams on corporate initiatives.
• Lead root cause investigations for incidents occurring at generation facilities.
• Collect, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations to support electrical planning and technical, operational, and financial objectives.
• Create presentations for senior management and recommend and implement best practices.
• Ensure adherence to relevant policies, codes, and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Must possess a PE license; alternatively, a minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience as a practicing engineer.
• A decade (10 years) of related experience in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Capable of leading, coaching, and guiding team members.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, along with presentation abilities.
• Self-motivated with the capacity to make decisions and take necessary actions independently.
• Proficient in time management and organizational skills; capable of multitasking with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of major power plant components, controls, protection systems, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.
• Leadership experience in troubleshooting and conducting root cause analyses of technical issues.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to fulfill physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
