This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
β’ Create documentation for engineering scope, including schedules and effort-hour estimates.
β’ Facilitate client presentations, design evaluations, and project progress meetings.
β’ Synchronize design and timelines with architectural, structural, mechanical, process, instrumentation disciplines, and equipment vendors.
β’ Oversee engineering and design tasks from initial conception through permitting, construction, and project completion.
β’ Conduct final quality reviews of electrical packages and assist with responses to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
β’ Track and project costs, schedules, and documentation accurately.
β’ Ensure that project records are maintained correctly for permanent archives.
β’ Generate electrical plans, one-line diagrams, specifications, calculations, and studies.
β’ Execute lighting calculations, equipment selection, loading calculations, short-circuit analysis, coordination, and arc-flash studies.
β’ Foster existing client relationships and support opportunities for future business development.
β’ Offer technical guidance, quality oversight, and mentorship.
β’ Conduct site assessments, field investigations, construction support, startup, commissioning, and address field conditions.
β’ Report directly to the Department Manager and work collaboratively with project managers, discipline leaders, clients, and external stakeholders.
β’ Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
β’ At least 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in electrical engineering.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience in heavy industrial, process, manufacturing, or similarly complex facilities.
β’ Current Professional Engineer license required, with the capability to obtain professional registration in additional jurisdictions as needed.
β’ Proven experience as a lead electrical engineer or engineer of record.
β’ Ability to independently address complex engineering, code, constructability, and field issues.
β’ Advanced understanding of electrical power distribution, equipment selection, layout, circuiting, grounding, bonding, lighting, and emergency or standby power systems.
β’ Proficient in developing and reviewing load calculations, short-circuit studies, protective-device coordination studies, arc-flash studies, and design recommendations utilizing ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar software.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other relevant electrical, building, fire-protection, and safety standards.
β’ Skill in interpreting code requirements, evaluating alternatives, documenting engineering decisions, and supporting AHJ responses.
β’ Competence in conducting final technical and quality reviews of calculations, studies, specifications, procurement packages, drawings, and construction documents.
β’ Capability to resolve intricate interdisciplinary coordination, constructability, equipment integration, and field installation challenges.
β’ Ability to provide technical guidance to engineers, designers, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
β’ Experience with site assessments, field investigations, construction support, startup, and commissioning activities.
β’ Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
β’ Familiarity with ElumTools, Visual, or AGi32.
β’ Experience in designing corporate offices, laboratories, and MEP-related warehouse facilities.
