This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of electrical experts in Generation Engineering.
• Offer leadership and management to direct reports while setting objectives related to safety, reliability, and adherence to regulations.
• Deliver technical guidance and supervision for engineering challenges associated with the maintenance and optimization of generation facilities.
• Direct engineering, procurement, and construction efforts on power plant enhancement projects.
• Conduct technical analyses and assess emerging technologies that align with technical, operational, and financial goals.
• Create and execute group improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and the quality of deliverables.
• Spearhead engineering analysis and provide recommendations, standards, and guidelines pertinent to power plant operation, maintenance, safety, reliability, procurement, construction, and testing.
• Lead, develop, and manage project designs, specifications, and engineered solutions for power plant equipment and systems.
• Contribute to annual budget planning and spending requirements for plant managers.
• Establish operating and maintenance standards to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate on project design with plant representatives, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
• Assess and evaluate generating equipment, process conditions, and project operational and maintenance needs.
• Ensure that generation projects adhere to design specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Provide outage and routine maintenance assistance, including planning, budgeting, business case development, parts/service, and procurement recommendations.
• Work alongside subject matter experts and cross-functional teams on corporate initiatives.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis for incidents occurring at generation facilities.
• Collaborate with management to collect, analyze, summarize, and present recommendations.
• Prepare presentations for senior management and advocate for the implementation of best practices.
• Ensure adherence to relevant policies, codes, and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Must possess a PE license; alternatively, a minimum of twelve (12) relevant years of engineering experience may be accepted.
• At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution is necessary.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Capability to lead, coach, and mentor employees while managing employee relations.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with presentation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team.
• In-depth knowledge of key power plant components, controls, and protection systems, as well as root cause analysis and risk assessment.
• Leadership experience in troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis for technical issues is required.
• A valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) history is necessary.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Must meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting, and occasionally working at heights.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
