Manager, Cross-Border & FX Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of implementing Plooto’s Cross-Border & FX strategy through various initiatives, roadmaps, KPIs, and quantifiable business outcomes.

• Foster growth in FX revenue, cross-border payment volume, customer engagement, repeat usage, and revenue generated per customer.

• Discover opportunities to broaden corridors, currencies, payment methods, and customer use scenarios.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to develop commercialization initiatives.

• Enhance FX pricing and economics by assessing spreads, transaction dynamics, price sensitivity, competitive positioning, and corridor performance.

• Define the Cross-Border & FX product roadmap in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.

• Create business cases and requirements, supporting capabilities from initial concept through to launch, commercialization, and adoption.

• Oversee partnerships related to banking, FX, and cross-border payments.

• Lead cross-functional efforts across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Operations, Risk, and Compliance.

• Evaluate customer behavior, payment trends, product performance, and market dynamics.

• Provide updates on performance, recommendations, and decision points to senior leadership.

• Collaborate with Risk and Compliance on AML/ATF, sanctions, payments, and both financial and operational requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in cross-border payments, foreign exchange, treasury, transaction banking, fintech, or payment infrastructure.

• Profound understanding of international payments, encompassing correspondent banking, payment networks, settlement, liquidity, and FX conversion.

• Strong expertise in FX pricing, spreads, wholesale currency procurement, liquidity management, and hedging strategies.

• Proven experience in developing, scaling, or commercializing payments or FX products.

• Background in owning revenue targets, business performance, product economics, or managing a P&L.

• Proficient in using data to uncover opportunities, formulate business cases, prioritize investments, and evaluate outcomes.

• Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to influence roadmaps and launch payment capabilities.

• Skilled in managing banking, payment network, FX provider, or other strategic financial services partnerships.

• Strong grasp of regulatory and risk considerations related to cross-border payments.

• Ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.

• Capacity to transition between strategic planning and detailed execution.

• Ability to distill complex payment concepts for technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
