This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee daily activities of the Corporate ledger and manage technical accounting issues in accordance with RTX Policy and US GAAP.
• Take ownership of accounting areas such as incentive compensation, stock-based compensation, equity, captive insurance, risk management, and other specialized Corporate subjects.
• Lead analytical assessments of Corporate balance sheet and P&L accounts.
• Prepare or assist in the creation of quarterly and annual financial reporting outputs related to equity.
• Identify risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for resolution.
• Collaborate with Corporate functions and RTX business units to ensure accurate recording of significant, unusual, or complex transactions while updating estimates accordingly.
• Support enterprise-wide projects, including ERP implementations and enhancements in account reconciliations.
• Drive improvements in Corporate accounting processes using the CORE framework and related tools, with a focus on AI-enabled efficiencies.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation, particularly for ERP-related changes.
• Draft accounting memos and documentation for complex or unusual transactions.
• Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects for Corporate leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual financial statement audit.
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Expertise in technical accounting, including the research and application of US GAAP.
• Familiarity with quarterly business results, balance sheets, P&L statements, and providing support to senior management during periodic reviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
• Willingness to accommodate a flexible schedule during peak quarter-end and year-end closing periods, which may include meetings outside regular business hours or occasional weekend/holiday support.
• Ability to travel periodically to the RTX Corporate Office in Farmington, CT, as necessary.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• CPA certification or progress toward obtaining CPA preferred.
• Experience in public accounting preferred.
• A minimum of three years’ experience with SAP, OneStream, and BlackLine systems preferred.
• Experience with ERP or financial system implementations preferred.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint preferred.
• Background in developing or enhancing standard process documentation, internal controls, or reconciliation processes preferred.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on complex or unusual transactions preferred.
• RTX segment accounting or experience in the aerospace and defense industry preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
