This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Oversee the comprehensive acquisition process within the designated territory, focusing on high-value Middle Market clients through strategic, consultative selling techniques.
• Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, and key financial leaders.
• Identify, nurture, and convert new business prospects utilizing market intelligence, networks, and industry knowledge.
• Maintain a strong local presence with travel requirements ranging from 25% to 50%.
• Manage a high-value sales pipeline with precise forecasting, effective conversion strategies, and consistent quota fulfillment.
• Leverage data, analytics, and financial insights to prioritize business opportunities and optimize resource distribution.
• Collaborate with Risk, Underwriting, Pricing, and Product teams to provide customized, profitable solutions.
• Engage in discovery conversations to identify client challenges and opportunities.
• Design solutions utilizing the complete suite of American Express offerings, from working capital optimization to expense management.
• Share insights on market trends, payment innovations, and financial transformations.
• Navigate complex deal negotiations and assist executive stakeholders in addressing strategic and financial considerations.
• Finalize deals and transition accounts to the Field Account Development team.
• Adhere to the American Express Code of Conduct and Sales Practice standards.
• Exemplify ethical decision-making and promote compliance throughout the sales process.
• A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated success in complex B2B, commercial, or financial sales environments.
• Proven track record of top-quartile performance and consistently surpassing ambitious sales goals.
• Proficiency in consultative, multi-stakeholder selling, influencing C-suite decision-makers, and closing significant, impactful deals.
• Documented success in solution-oriented sales within payments, financial services, SaaS, or related sectors.
• Strong financial acumen, including the ability to articulate ROI, profitability, and business implications.
• Expertise in interpreting client financial statements, analyzing balance sheets, and identifying working capital requirements.
• Outstanding ability to translate complex solutions into compelling, actionable value for clients.
• Capability to thrive in a regulated environment.
• Ability to work autonomously, think innovatively, and drive measurable business results within institutional frameworks.
• Flexibility to adapt in rapidly changing environments.
• Proficient in CRM management, pipeline forecasting, and disciplined sales execution.
• Eligibility to work in the United States with American Express; visa sponsorship will not be pursued.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
