This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Develop overall strategies for assigned groups of principals and ingredients.
• Serve as a liaison between Sales Managers across 40 countries and the principals.
• Concentrate on strategic issues to enhance market value.
• Become a primary contact for principals regarding strategic and company-wide matters.
• Ensure that principals meet their objectives while keeping them updated on potentials, projects, activities, sales data, and market research.
• Mentor Sales Managers on strategic issues.
• Share information about principals, arrange training sessions, discuss quarterly plans, and analyze market trends and customer strategies.
• Ensure the effective use of reporting tools, monitoring systems, CRM, and laboratories.
• Provide daily business support through technical guidance, price negotiations with principals, and joint customer visits.
• Collaborate with Country Managers to recruit and train new Sales Managers.
• Anticipate market trends and develop tools to monitor them.
• Collaborate with principals, Sales Managers, and internal application centers/labs.
• Analyze the portfolio and identify potential new principals as required.
• Develop internal frameworks such as reporting structures, central stock, central sampling, technical services, and laboratories in coordination with the Board.
• Report to the Chief Sales Officer (CSO).
• Functionally oversee Sales Managers.
• Directly manage the Supplier Service Manager.
• Start as an application technologist in the laboratory and transition into the new role with training from the existing job holder.
• Degree in Food Technology or a related university degree in food technology.
• At least 10 years of experience in the food ingredients sector.
• Extensive technological application knowledge in various food segments/categories.
• Sales experience, preferably in a multicultural environment, mainly within the EMEA region.
• Experience working with distributors or producers of food ingredients while managing food ingredients distributors.
• Experience in B2B sales of food ingredients, as opposed to FMCG.
• Strong communication, proactive nature, analytical thinking, supportive skills, and commitment to selling value-added ingredient specialties.
• Management, leadership, and teamwork capabilities.
• Proficient in English.
• Willingness to travel, with a minimum travel requirement of 30%.
