This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the engineering team's execution, ensuring the technical health, security, PCI compliance, and operational reliability of AgentMate.
• Collaborate with Product and Delivery on established priorities.
• Mentor, coach, and develop the AgentMate application development team.
• Establish expectations for delivery, quality, security, collaboration, and accountability.
• Strategically plan and prioritize team capacity, competing priorities, dependencies, production needs, and technical debt.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings, provide constructive feedback, support career growth, and foster succession and knowledge-sharing practices.
• Engage in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and resource planning activities.
• Remain actively involved in solution design, coding, code review, troubleshooting, and delivery of critical AgentMate capabilities.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and services utilizing C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, SQL, and Azure-aligned services.
• Guide the creation of responsive and accessible user experiences using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Advocate for maintainable engineering patterns, code reuse, automated testing, documentation, and clean deployment practices.
• Diagnose complex issues across front-end, API, service, database, integration, and hosting layers.
• Integrate secure software development practices throughout the application lifecycle.
• Lead threat modeling, secure design reviews, security-focused code reviews, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with Information Security and Infrastructure on vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, incident response, audit support, and security controls.
• Ensure that applications, libraries, and third-party components are inventoried, monitored, patched, and upgraded regularly.
• Mentor developers on defensive coding practices and security expectations.
• Take ownership of engineering execution from technical discovery through to production release and ongoing support.
• Enhance software quality through unit, integration, regression, performance, and security testing.
• Establish best practices for code review, branching, building, deployment, releasing, and rollback within CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve observability via logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting mechanisms.
• Spearhead root-cause analysis and implement durable corrective actions for significant defects or incidents.
• Balance feature delivery with modernization, reliability, maintainability, and reduction of technical debt.
• Provide technical guidance for AgentMate in alignment with enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure, and technology standards.
• Work closely with product owners, delivery managers, architects, security partners, QA, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Clearly communicate technical trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, integrations, data flows, deployments, and support.
• Assess technologies and patterns based on business value, security, supportability, cost, and team readiness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional application development experience, including significant hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET technologies.
• 2+ years of formal people leadership, engineering management, team lead, or similar experience with responsibility for coaching and delivery.
• Advanced proficiency in C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, SQL, object-oriented design, asynchronous programming, and modern testing practices.
• Strong hands-on experience in building and supporting modern web applications using React and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Proven application security experience, including secure coding, threat modeling, vulnerability remediation, authentication/authorization, OWASP risks, dependency management, and secure API practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted applications and services, preferably Microsoft Azure, including CI/CD, monitoring, secrets/configuration management, and production support.
• Experience integrating applications with internal and third-party services via APIs, messaging, and scheduled or event-driven processing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery, make informed trade-offs, manage risks, and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
• Willingness and capability to contribute directly to code, design, reviews, and incident resolution as team needs arise.
• Experience in modernizing legacy .NET applications or incrementally decomposing tightly coupled systems in a low-risk manner is preferred.
• PCI Professional (PCIP), Security+, CISSP, CSSLP, or equivalent security certification is preferred.
• Working knowledge of PCI DSS requirements and application-development responsibilities related to PCI compliance is preferred.
• Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL, API Management, Key Vault, Application Insights, or similar services is preferred.
• Familiarity with identity platforms and standards like Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and role-based access control is preferred.
• Experience with software composition analysis, static and dynamic application security testing, secrets scanning, and remediation workflows is preferred.
• Knowledge of performance engineering, caching, resiliency patterns, distributed systems, and production observability is preferred.
• Background in travel technology, CRM, member-facing platforms, or systems with complex third-party integrations is preferred.
