This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi, +1 more state.
• Oversee the ELIP US/LATAM Machine Safety Program as the regional expert in the field.
• Ensure adherence to ABB requirements, OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, NFPA requirements, and other relevant machine safety guidelines.
• Perform machine risk assessments to pinpoint hazards, assess risk levels, and formulate safeguarding solutions.
• Manage machine safety projects from the assessment phase to implementation, which includes engineering reviews, vendor coordination, installation, validation, budgeting, scheduling, and project closeout.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, HSE, contractors, and equipment suppliers to design, install, and validate machine safeguarding and control solutions.
• Establish standards, track project progress and corrective measures, validate risk-reduction strategies, and disseminate best practices across facilities.
• Report directly to the HSE Business Head.
• A Bachelor's degree with over 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, OR an Associate's degree with more than 7 years of relevant experience.
• Certification as a Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) is required; must be able to obtain this certification within 6 months if not currently certified.
• Preferred certifications include OSHA, ANSI B11, ISO 12100, or ISO 13849.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is essential.
• Proficient in using third-party database management systems and MS Office.
• Possess strong leadership and influencing capabilities.
• Experience in strategic program development with a proven history of creating and implementing HSE initiatives.
• Expertise in project and change management.
• Advanced technical and digital skills in HSE management systems, data analytics, digital tools, and technology solutions.
• Professional knowledge of HSE compliance, including advanced training and certifications in occupational health, safety, environmental management systems, auditing, regulatory compliance, and document control.
