This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the development of transportation strategies, sourcing, governance, resource allocation, and logistics operations for a designated portfolio of domestic and international projects.
• Assist ITO Project Logistics Leads with logistics concepts, budget freight estimates, transportation timelines, sourcing strategies, risk evaluations, and tender assumptions.
• Evaluate and challenge logistics solutions for commercial viability, operational practicality, and alignment with project specifications.
• Transition logistics strategies, budgets, schedules, assumptions, risks, and contractual obligations from ITO to OTR upon project award.
• Maintain oversight of logistics execution at the portfolio level until final delivery is achieved.
• Directly manage and develop Project Logistics Managers, Logistics Specialists, and Logistics Coordinators.
• Plan resources, balance workloads, mentor staff, manage performance, enhance capabilities, and strategize succession planning.
• Consolidate shipment demands and formulate transportation sourcing strategies across the entire portfolio.
• Supervise RFQs, carrier bid assessments, commercial evaluations, supplier evaluations, negotiations, Statements of Work, purchase orders, and contracts.
• Monitor logistics costs, schedules, risks, supplier performance, transportation capacity, and resource needs.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Project Management, Engineering, Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customs and Trade Compliance, Finance, Site Operations, and Corporate Logistics.
• Conduct or assist in logistics feasibility studies, supplier readiness assessments, transportation evaluations, and operational reviews.
• Address complex issues related to transportation, suppliers, capacity, commercial matters, contracts, and project escalations.
• Develop carrier networks and strategic sourcing initiatives for specialized project cargo, heavy haul, superloads, oversized cargo, breakbulk, rail, ocean, and multimodal transport.
• Manage logistics budgets, forecasts, actual costs, financial obligations, cost-to-complete, KPIs, and portfolio analytics.
• Support the implementation of Transportation Management Systems, shipment visibility, logistics technology, reporting, and digital transformation projects.
• Standardize logistics processes, templates, planning tools, governance practices, KPIs, and operational reporting.
• Lead continuous improvement and cross-functional process enhancement initiatives.
• Travel domestically and internationally to facilitate supplier assessments, feasibility reviews, transportation planning, execution-readiness evaluations, and visits to facilities, ports, warehouses, rail, and job sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in project logistics, transportation, supply chain, or a similar domain.
• Proven leadership experience, including direct accountability for employee performance, development, workload management, and resource distribution.
• Experience in large-scale industrial, infrastructure, energy, utility, data center, or capital project environments.
• Background in managing domestic and international multimodal transportation operations.
• Demonstrated proficiency in transportation sourcing, carrier negotiations, contract development, supplier management, and logistics execution.
• Experience handling multiple complex projects or a project portfolio with competing priorities, risks, and resource needs.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally based on business and project necessities.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Comprehensive knowledge of heavy haul, superloads, oversized cargo, breakbulk ocean, rail, port operations, and multimodal transportation.
• Familiarity with customs processes, international trade compliance, Incoterms, import/export regulations, and hazardous materials transportation.
• Experience in developing transportation strategies, carrier networks, sourcing programs, logistics budgets, and project execution plans.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience in reviewing logistics budgets, estimates, bids, contracts, and supplier proposals.
• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, quantitative, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven project and portfolio management capabilities.
• Ability to establish, manage, forecast, and sustain operational and project logistics budgets.
