Logistics Associate – Long Term Recovery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee storage caches at various program locations, which involves monitoring leases and managing inventory.

• Administer fleet assets and acquire construction materials and supplies necessary for construction projects.

• Monitor and report on fleet vehicle locations, usage, toll tag expenses, and maintenance activities.

• Lease and report on the usage of rental vehicles as required for program support.

• Assess materials lists and research or suggest disaster-resilient materials.

• Source construction-related materials through the vendor network, selecting the best cost options.

• Identify vendors for urgent materials procurement needs in areas with limited resources.

• Collaborate with FEMA, state governments, and nonprofits to request Donations in Kind (DIK).

• Source, ship, receive, inventory, and warehouse Donations in Kind.

• Manage the shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehousing of durable goods for programmatic purposes.

• Track and report the utilization of gift cards for purchasing materials.

• Assist the Workforce Development department with logistics tasks, including managing rental vehicles, in-kind donations, storage, and transportation.

• Report directly to the Manager of Long-Term Recovery (Operations).

• Ensure that construction contractors have the necessary materials to rebuild homes for clients affected by disasters.


⛳️ Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in military service, emergency management, or the social impact sector.

• 1-2 years of experience in logistics, fleet management, purchasing, acquisitions, or supply chain management.

• Strong computer skills are essential.

• Outstanding ability to source, organize, evaluate, and recommend solutions that meet programmatic needs.

• Preferred: Practical knowledge of Lean methodologies.

• Must reside in the lower 48 US States.

• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

• Willingness to travel at least 20% non-locally on occasion.

• Relocation expenses will not be covered.
