Loan Conversion Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in data conversions and technical tasks for the implementation of Hawthorn River loan origination software.

• Evaluate source data from core banking systems, loan origination platforms, and external vendors.

• Align source data fields with Hawthorn River’s defined conversion specifications.

• Utilize SQL to examine, reconcile, validate, and modify loan data.

• Analyze structured data files such as CSV, fixed-width, XML, JSON, and more.

• Confirm source fields meet target-system criteria prior to data loading.

• Investigate rejected, missing, or inaccurately translated data, documenting the causes and solutions.

• Review system and integration logs to detect configuration, connectivity, and data-flow issues.

• Troubleshoot file-based and API-driven integrations with implementation, product, support, and engineering teams.

• Assist with data transformations, additional file processing, and loan account number alterations.

• Employ SQL, Python, or other scripting tools to enhance conversion effectiveness and precision.

• Support testing, data validation, user acceptance testing, go-live procedures, and post-conversion issue resolution.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data mappings, conversion choices, validation outcomes, issues, and resolutions.

• Convey technical findings to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Build knowledge of the Hawthorn River platform, its data prerequisites, integration capabilities, and loan origination processes.

• Collaborate with implementation, product, support, and technical teams during customer conversions.

• Oversee assigned conversion tasks and priorities across various implementations.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two years of experience in data conversion, technical implementation, systems integration, banking operations, fintech, or a related area.

• Solid understanding of loan origination processes, encompassing application, evaluation, approval, documentation, closing, and funding.

• Practical SQL experience related to data review, validation, reconciliation, or transformation.

• Familiarity with structured data files, including CSV, fixed-width, XML, or JSON.

• Insight into data conversion tasks such as source-to-target mapping, field-level transformation, validation, and exception management.

• Capability to interpret system or integration logs to troubleshoot technical challenges.

• Experience in reviewing configurations and identifying issues related to data flow, formatting, or connectivity.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen focus on data accuracy.

• Excellent documentation skills, organizational abilities, and follow-through.

• Proficiency in articulating technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional and customer-facing teams.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a remote setting.

• Experience in supporting a loan origination system or other lending technologies (preferred).

• Background in core banking system conversions or integrations (preferred).

• Practical understanding of banking or lending operations (preferred).

• Experience handling loan data from a financial institution, core provider, or third-party vendor (preferred).

• Familiarity with file-based and API-driven integration techniques (preferred).

• Experience utilizing Python or another scripting language to automate data review or transformation processes (preferred).

• Exposure to data migration, data quality, or conversion reconciliation processes (preferred).

• Educational background in computer science, information systems, data analytics, finance, banking, or a relevant discipline (preferred).

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
