This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +5 more countries.
• Support attorneys in the drafting and reviewing of legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and corporate/LLC filings.
• Perform legal research and analysis to aid attorneys in advising clients on various business issues.
• Organize and manage client files, including the preparation and maintenance of corporate records, ensuring all documents are executed and filed correctly.
• Engage directly with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to gather necessary information and documentation.
• Prepare and file forms with municipal, state, and federal agencies, including formation documents, annual reports, and other essential filings.
• Assist in the preparation of alcoholic beverage license applications.
• Act as a communication liaison between the firm and respondents, attorneys, municipal and state departments, and clients.
• Develop and document workflows to enhance and support the firm’s internal processes.
• Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• 2–5+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in corporate, transactional, or regulatory/licensing practice.
• Paralegal certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree; paralegal certification (e.g., NALA, NFPA) is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with corporate/LLC formation and maintenance, including annual reports and registered agent filings.
• Strong legal research capabilities, with proficiency in research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis) and general internet research.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the professionalism required to interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, and government agencies.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines across various client matters concurrently.
• Comfortable working independently and effectively in a fully remote environment, including managing digital files and using virtual communication tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard document management/e-filing systems.
• Prior experience with alcoholic beverage licensing (ABC) applications or other regulatory licensing processes is preferred.
• Experience supporting municipal or state government filings in California or other jurisdictions is preferred.
• Background in creating or enhancing firm workflows, templates, or process documentation is preferred.
