This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile, +6 more countries.
• Precisely transcribe attorney dictation into written documents.
• Evaluate potential matters and cultivate professional relationships with prospective clients.
• Assist in litigation preparation, including organization of exhibits and evidence.
• Provide support to attorneys during trial preparation and proceedings.
• Prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic legal environment.
• Ensure that legal documents are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, subpoenas, disclosures, discovery documents, witness lists, exhibit lists, and legal correspondence.
• Aid attorneys in drafting and proofreading legal documents.
• Support attorneys and team members with additional legal and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
• Organize, maintain, and update case files and databases effectively.
• Assist attorneys in ensuring compliance with legal procedures and court requirements.
• Manage scheduling conflicts and coordinate updates to calendars.
• Schedule appointments, depositions, court appearances, and meetings.
• Perform filing, document management, copying, and general office support tasks.
• Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, mail, and faxes.
• Conduct interviews with prospective clients and gather pertinent case information.
• Monitor and manage case deadlines, filings, and court appearances.
• Coordinate communication among clients, attorneys, medical providers, lienholders, and court personnel.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients and provide updates on their cases.
• Address client inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Collect necessary information and documents from clients.
• Available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant.
• An Associate's degree or higher in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and Michigan state laws is required.
• Experience in supporting litigation matters and preparing legal documents is preferred.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software is required.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while managing sensitive legal information.
• Capability to communicate in both English and Spanish is required.
