Linguist, Somali – UI Technical / Marketing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Modify intricate software interfaces and support documentation for native Somali users.

• Localize international marketing campaigns and brand messaging for Somali-speaking audiences.

• Adapt product and e-commerce content, including user interface listings.

• Implement regional naming conventions and formatting guidelines.

• Maintain quality standards and brand integrity.

• Collaborate with production and quality assurance leads to ensure timely project delivery that meets client specifications.

• Participate in AI and language technology initiatives.

• Complete onboarding, payment setup, and community registration after selection and testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Somali.

• A degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a degree in another field with 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.

• Capability to adhere to terminology and reference materials meticulously.

• Demonstrated professional experience in translation and localization in marketing, UI/software, or e-commerce content.

• Experience with app or platform localization is preferred.

• Reliable availability and dedication; most tasks demand a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.

• Contractors must not be based in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions.

• Responsible for personal tax obligations.

• An updated CV in English is required.

• Must pass a domain-specific test if necessary before onboarding.
