Linguist – Shona, UI Technical/Marketing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Modify intricate software interfaces and support documentation tailored for native Shona speakers.

• Adapt global campaigns and brand messaging for the Shona-speaking audience.

• Localize product and UI listings by applying regional naming conventions and formatting standards.

• Maintain quality standards and ensure content is consistent with brand identity.

• Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure timely project delivery that meets client specifications.

• Finalize onboarding, payment arrangements, and community registration post-selection and assessment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Shona.

• A degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a degree in another discipline combined with 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.

• Capability to accurately adhere to terminology and reference materials.

• Established professional background in translation and localization, especially in marketing, UI/software, or e-commerce content.

• Preference for candidates with app or platform localization experience.

• Dependable availability and dedication; most assignments require at least 2 hours daily or 10 hours weekly.

• Must be able to submit an updated CV in English.

• Completion of a domain-specific assessment may be necessary.

• Contractors must not be located in regions affected by international embargoes or sanctions.

• Contractors are responsible for their own tax responsibilities.
