This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Identify, nurture, and implement external partnerships that align with Life Science and portfolio strategies.
• Source and oversee an extensive network of partners.
• Create a strong pipeline of strategic partnership and licensing prospects.
• Contribute towards achieving annual revenue and margin goals.
• Scout for partners and assess, negotiate, draft, and finalize deals and contracts.
• Manage various deal types including co-development, in-licensing, out-licensing, distribution, co-marketing, OEM, and research collaborations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders such as R&D, legal, product management, regulatory, and quality.
• Undertake additional business-related tasks to enhance team objectives and operational efficiency.
• Travel, including international trips, up to 30% of the time.
• Ph.D. in Biology or Chemistry.
• Over 10 years of industry experience in corporate development, strategic partnerships (excluding sales), or BD&L.
• Proven record of closing single deals valued at >=10M USD+ 10Y NPV.
• A deal sheet must be included as an attachment to the application.
• Demonstrated experience in negotiating complex deals.
• Strong understanding of contract fundamentals.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Experience in negotiating in-licensing, out-licensing, distribution, and co-development agreements.
• Financial acumen with the ability to create and defend financial analyses and business cases, including DCFs, for consumables and digital assets.
• Exceptional networking and intelligence-gathering abilities.
• Capability to work as an individual contributor in uncertain environments with shifting priorities and limited resources.
• Strong presentation skills aimed at C-suite audiences.
• External applicants must have eligibility to work in the US.
• Preferred: MBA.
• Preferred: Experience in a matrixed environment.
• Preferred: Knowledge of IP protections, contract negotiations, and Venture Capital.
• Preferred: Proficiency in German or French.
