Licensed Therapist – Veteran and Military Mental Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver individual and group interventions for health psychology issues, psychosocial stressors, grief, life-stage challenges, and various levels of mental health concerns.

• Conduct cognitive screenings that address functional and cognitive ability inquiries.

• Provide prompt clinical evaluations, collaborative care, and treatment for mental and behavioral health symptoms.

• Perform psychosocial assessments to evaluate patient and family functioning and needs.

• Utilize knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, treatment methods, medications, side effects, and medical terminology.

• Adhere to suicide prevention guidelines, risk assessment documentation, and training protocols.

• Complete assessments and document necessary information for diagnoses and treatment decisions.

• Offer DSM diagnoses.

• Implement emergency and crisis interventions, rapid assessments, and crisis management strategies.

• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy when clinically appropriate.

• Stay informed about veterans’ benefits, services, community resources, and referral processes.

• Manage cases throughout the entire continuum of care.

• Adhere to client regulations regarding documentation and encounter completion.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must hold a license to practice independently in ANY state as a Psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW.

• Psychologists are required to have PsyPact in addition to their state license.

• Possess either a master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited program, or a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program.

• Have at least 2 years of experience practicing therapy independently.

• Experience providing consultation on mental health diagnoses and treatment plans to professionals across various disciplines, especially for patients with psychiatric and medical complexities.

• Familiarity with DSM-5 clinical presentations and brief, evidence-based psychological interventions for mild, moderate, and severe cases.

• General knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment.

• Understanding of Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Serious Mental Illness.

• Skills and experience in treating patients in Veterans' Hospital PTSD and MHC environments with mental health and behavioral health issues, including comorbidities.

• Proficient in assessment and intervention skills, particularly with Evidence-Based Treatment methodologies.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.

• Knowledge of risk assessment and procedures for mental health crises, including leading interdisciplinary treatment teams during such events.

• Experience with one or more Electronic Health Records systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and reside within the United States.
