
Licensed Therapist β Veteran and Military Mental Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Deliver individual and group interventions for patients dealing with health psychology issues linked to mental health diagnoses, psychosocial stressors, grief, life transitions, and mild-to-moderate/severe mental health conditions.
β’ Conduct cognitive screenings that address questions related to functional and cognitive abilities.
β’ Provide immediate clinical assessments and collaborate on care and treatment for patients facing mental or behavioral health symptoms.
β’ Perform comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and their families.
β’ Utilize medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, treatment methods, medications, side effects, and medical terminology in clinical practice.
β’ Adhere to suicide prevention protocols, ensure proper risk-assessment documentation, and fulfill training requirements.
β’ Complete necessary documentation and determine suitable diagnoses and treatment-related conclusions utilizing DSM diagnosis.
β’ Offer emergency and crisis interventions, rapid assessments, and develop crisis-management plans.
β’ Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy when clinically appropriate and therapeutically advantageous.
β’ Stay informed about Veterans' benefits, services, community resources, and referral processes.
β’ Deliver case management services to patients and families throughout the entire continuum of care.
β’ Comply with client regulations concerning documentation and encounter completion.
β’ Must hold a license to practice independently in any state as a Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
β’ Psychologists must possess a PsyPact in addition to a state license.
β’ Depending on the type of license, a master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited program, or a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program is required.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of experience in independently practicing therapy is necessary.
β’ Preferred: experience in providing therapy to veterans and military personnel.
β’ Experience in consulting on mental health diagnoses and treatment plans for multidisciplinary professionals, especially for patients with complex psychiatric and medical issues.
β’ Familiarity with the complete range of DSM-5 clinical presentations and brief, evidence-based psychological interventions for mild, moderate, and severe conditions.
β’ General knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment processes.
β’ Understanding of Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
β’ Experience in treating patients in a Veterans' Hospital PTSD and MHC setting who have mental and behavioral health issues and comorbidities.
β’ Assessment and intervention skills, with specialized experience in Evidence-Based Treatment.
β’ Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
β’ Familiarity with risk assessment and mental health crisis procedures, including the capability to lead interdisciplinary treatment teams during patient mental health crises.
β’ Experience with one or more Electronic Health Records systems.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
β’ Must be a US citizen and reside within the United States.
β’ Preferred therapeutic modalities for depression include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Interpersonal Therapy, Problem-Solving Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT), and Short-term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
β’ Preferred therapeutic modalities for trauma include Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and suicide-risk-management training such as CBT for Suicide Prevention.
