Licensed Therapist – Veteran and Military Mental Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Deliver individual and group interventions for patients dealing with mental health diagnoses, health psychology issues, psychosocial stressors, grief, life transition challenges, and a range of mental health presentations from mild to severe.

• Conduct cognitive screenings that address questions related to functional and cognitive abilities.

• Provide immediate clinical evaluations and collaborative care for mental and behavioral health symptoms.

• Complete psychosocial assessments to evaluate patient and family functioning and needs.

• Utilize knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses and treatments, including various illnesses, medications, side effects, and relevant medical terminology.

• Adhere to suicide prevention guidelines and fulfill risk assessment documentation and training requirements.

• Formulate DSM diagnoses and treatment-related conclusions.

• Offer emergency and crisis interventions, rapid assessments, and crisis management plans.

• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy as clinically indicated.

• Stay informed about veterans' benefits, services, community resources, and referral processes.

• Manage cases throughout the continuum of care.

• Comply with client documentation regulations and complete encounter records.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must hold an independent practice license in any state as a Psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW.

• Psychologists are required to have PsyPact in addition to their state license.

• A Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited program, or a doctoral degree in psychology from a recognized graduate program, as per license type.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience providing therapy independently.

• Preferred experience in delivering therapy to veterans and military personnel.

• Experience in consulting on mental health diagnoses and treatment plans for multidisciplinary teams.

• Familiarity with DSM-5 clinical presentations and brief, evidence-based psychological interventions.

• Strong understanding of mental health assessment and treatment methodologies.

• Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Serious Mental Illness.

• Proficient assessment and intervention skills, including specialized experience with Evidence-Based Treatments.

• Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.

• Knowledge of risk assessment and mental health crisis protocols.

• Experience with one or more Electronic Health Records systems.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and reside within the United States.

• Preferred knowledge of depression treatment modalities such as ACT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT-I, Interpersonal Therapy, Problem-Solving Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, and Short-term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

• Preferred knowledge of trauma treatment modalities including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills training, and CBT-I.

• Training related to suicide-risk management is required.
