Licensed Professional Counselor – Virginia

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Provide individual and/or family counseling to assist clients or patients in overcoming dependencies, adapting to life changes, or making necessary adjustments.

• Initiate internal referrals to Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) if there is minimal to no progress after 8 weeks of outpatient therapy.

• Support clients in acquiring skills or strategies to effectively handle challenges.

• Create and execute treatment plans grounded in clinical expertise and knowledge, setting SMART goals alongside patients.

• Formulate treatment plans within 72 hours post-intake and review or adjust them every 4 weeks.

• Accurately complete and maintain all client-related documentation, including diagnostic records, progress notes, treatment records, and reports.

• Ensure progress notes are finalized within 48 hours following each session.

• Assess clients’ physical or mental well-being based on the information provided by the client.

• Collaborate with colleagues on clinical evaluations and treatment plans within 2 days of starting care.

• Refer patients, clients, or family members to appropriate community resources or specialists as needed.

• Stay updated on advancements in counseling through professional literature, educational courses, seminars, and interactions with social service organizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in a counseling environment.

• An active Licensed Professional Counselor license in Virginia is mandatory.

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare, particularly in oncology, is preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Telehealth settings is preferred.

• A minimum client load of 18 hours per week is required.
