Personal Financial Counselor Trainee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Receive training in personal financial counseling services and responsibilities while pursuing the necessary PFC certification.

• Offer education, information, and support to members, providers, as well as internal and external customers.

• Acquire skills in providing personal financial counseling and management services for service members and their families.

• Learn to assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.

• Understand how to coordinate, promote, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.

• Gain proficiency in using virtual counseling and electronic communication methods, such as web-based tools, secure online chat, video communications, and secure video teleconferencing.

• Learn to manage duty-to-warn situations according to Department of Defense protocols.

• Communicate with leadership and engage in both individual and group supervision.

• Participate in in-services, training sessions, quality improvement committees, and other assigned contract activities.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1,000 hours of financial counseling experience obtained prior to application.

• A bachelor's degree is required; an associate degree with 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree; a high school diploma with 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Proficient in English.

• Capable of delivering presentations to both small and large groups.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.

• Ability to achieve a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation status.

• Must be actively working towards successfully passing and obtaining an approved Financial Certification (AFC, CFP, or ChFC) within three months of employment.

• Must hold a valid in-state driver's license.

• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality.
