Personal Financial Counselor, PFC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver personal financial counseling and management services to military personnel and their families.

• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended periods of absence.

• Design and distribute informative financial materials.

• Organize, promote, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.

• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.

• Provide virtual counseling via secure online chat, video communication, or authorized secure video teleconferencing.

• Handle duty-to-warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.

• Communicate with leadership and engage in individual and group supervision activities.

• Share insights and trends impacting assigned military installations.

• Participate in in-service training, quality improvement committees, and additional contract-related activities.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required; alternatively, an associate degree plus 4 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• A high school diploma combined with 6 years of experience may also be considered in place of a bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Proficiency in English is mandatory.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred if specified by the contract.

• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.

• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

• Must possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

• A valid in-state driver's license is required among the necessary certifications.

• Capable of effectively using virtual counseling and electronic communication methods.
