Medical Science Liaison – Genetic Counselor, Rare Disease

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a scientific and clinical authority between Labcorp Cardiology/Neurology, the Rare Disease sector, and key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, major medical associations, and academic institutions.

• Distribute, elucidate, and provide education on relevant scientific and clinical information primarily concerning rare diseases.

• Cultivate enduring, science-driven relationships with key opinion leaders.

• Offer educational assistance to providers, payers, and advocates regarding Labcorp products and rare disease testing.

• Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with prominent KOLs.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers, investigators, partners, influential clinicians, KOLs, and advisory panels.

• Deliver educational support for the field sales team and internal stakeholders on Labcorp's rare disease offerings.

• Engage with payer and insurer Medical Directors and members of professional organization guideline committees concerning product usage and coverage.

• Create multi-channel medical educational initiatives and resources with marketing, including speaker programs, presentation materials, and CME events.

• Take part in training sessions for the rare sales team.

• Work alongside the scientific communications liaison to develop suitable content.

• Attend scientific conferences and prepare meeting summaries for senior leadership and marketing teams.

• Engage in product development discussions and messaging.

• Conduct both in-person visits and virtual meetings.

• Travel mainly within the US, with potential international travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling or Human Genetics.

• Certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical genetic counseling experience.

• At least 1 year of clinical genetic counseling experience focused on rare diseases.

• Knowledge of key elements of the rare disease market.

• Preferred familiarity with molecular diagnostic technologies.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

• Capacity to work from a home office 50% of the time.

• Highly organized with exceptional time management capabilities.

• Strong ability to multitask while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient computer skills.

• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
