Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC-D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Offer outpatient services through Brave Health’s telehealth platform.

• Provide mental health treatment to individuals of all ages.

• Serve patients enrolled in commercial health plans, Medicaid, and Medicare.

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans.

• Diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders.

• Collaborate with clients to reach their treatment objectives.

• Deliver around 30 hours of client care weekly, averaging six clients daily.

• Work with individuals suffering from chronic severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, or schizoaffective disorder.

• Utilize telehealth software, video conferencing, and internal communication tools.

• Assist in Brave Health’s growth by acquiring additional state licenses as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree and appropriate licensure are required.

• Candidates for LMHC and LMFT must possess Diagnostic Privileges (LMHC-D / LMFT-D).

• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

• Should not depend on temporary or employer-reliant visa statuses.

• A private workspace at home is essential for patient safety and HIPAA compliance.

• Proficiency in English is mandatory.

• Spanish language skills are preferred; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.

• Familiarity with mental health and/or substance use disorder diagnoses.

• Competence in treatment planning.

• Comfortable using telehealth software, video communication, and internal communication platforms.

• Experience collaborating with clients to achieve their goals.

• Ability to utilize comprehensive assessments effectively.

• Must hold current full/independent licensure in the relevant state(s).

• Willingness to acquire additional state licenses as required.

• Capability to complete 30 client care hours each week.
