Legal Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Coordinate and assist with the operations of the personal injury department concerning medical records and billing.

• Initiate medical records by creating and processing patient cases.

• Retrieve medical records by exporting charts and resolving document retrieval issues for statistical tracking and follow-up.

• Deliver charts and requests to designated personnel or the company.

• Communicate the availability or unavailability of records to healthcare providers, requesters, and attorneys.

• Document and convey actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure work continuity.

• Uphold the confidentiality of patient records and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

• Forward records to third-party vendors as required.

• Contact patients to collect information.

• Verify auto insurance and reach out to attorneys for policy limits and accident details.

• Confirm patients' personal health insurance information.

• Contact patients to schedule appointments or transfer scheduling to patient access after obtaining clearance.

• Generate billing statements for Clearway Pain and Clearway Surgery Center.

• Validate billing balances against patient accounts and send statements to the requested parties.

• Confirm insurance payments and verify balances post-posting.

• Establish points of contact with attorneys' offices and patients.

• Regularly check work email throughout the workday.

• Participate in and complete all required training and in-services.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must reside in one of the states where the company operates: MD, DE, VA, NJ, PA, FL, AL, GA, SC, or TX.

• Proficiency in Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including outstanding customer service.

• Ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, co-workers, and the public.

• Capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment.

• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.

• Flexibility in work scheduling.

• Ability to respond with patience and understanding in stressful patient-health and emergent situations.

• Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing tasks.

• Extreme attention to detail.

• Preferred: experience with motor vehicle insurance or in a chiropractor's office.

• Preferred: two years of experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

• Preferred: Medical Billing Certification.
