This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +7 more states.
• Coordinate and assist with the functions of the personal injury department concerning medical records and billing.
• Initiate patient cases by creating and processing medical records.
• Retrieve medical records through chart exporting and address document retrieval issues for statistical analysis and follow-up.
• Deliver charts and requests to designated personnel or the company.
• Communicate the availability or unavailability of records to healthcare providers, requesters, and attorneys.
• Ensure continuity of operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
• Maintain patient record confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Forward records to third-party vendors when necessary.
• Contact patients to collect needed information.
• Verify auto insurance, personal health insurance, insurance payments, and balances.
• Reach out to attorneys for policy limit information and accident details.
• Schedule patients or direct them to patient access for scheduling upon completion and clearance.
• Prepare billing statements for Clearway Pain and Clearway Surgery Center.
• Verify billing balances against patient accounts and send statements to designated parties.
• Establish points of contact with attorney offices and patients.
• Regularly check work email throughout the day.
• Participate in and complete mandatory trainings and in-services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Must reside in one of the states where the company operates: MD, DE, VA, NJ, PA, FL, AL, GA, SC, or TX.
• Proficient in Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including outstanding customer service.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, colleagues, and the public.
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule.
• Patience and understanding in stressful patient-health and emergency situations.
• Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing tasks.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to meet established quality standards.

• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines.
• Solid understanding of insurance practices and third-party payer regulations.
• Familiarity with healthcare, medical specialties, and medical terminology.

• Compliance with relevant organizational rules and regulations.
• High ethical and professional standards.
• Preferred: experience in motor vehicle insurance or at a chiropractor's office.
• Preferred: two (2) years of experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Preferred: Medical Billing Certification.
