This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Provide comprehensive legal-administrative support for the operation of stores in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
• Draft, review, renew, and manage leasing and subleasing contracts.
• Process and obtain licenses and permits for the opening and operation of stores in Guatemala.
• Coordinate with external advisors and local personnel in El Salvador and Honduras.
• Address requirements from government entities and follow up on investigations by the Public Ministry.
• Manage, preserve, and deliver video recordings and other evidence while maintaining traceability and chain of custody.
• Prepare and present official letters, memorials, powers of attorney, settlements, and other legal documentation.
• Handle complaints and claims before DIACO and consumer protection authorities.
• Support HR in conciliatory hearings before IGSS, IGT, and municipal courts.
• Draft, review, and renew contracts with service providers and manage contracts in CobbleStone.
• Maintain matrices for licenses, leases, requirements, complaints, contracts, and representations.
• Create monthly reports, compliance indicators, and expiration alerts.
• Organize and maintain both physical and digital legal files, including SharePoint and corporate portals.
• Assist with notarial obligations, corporate and registration procedures, electronic signature flows, and documentation related to deceased clients.
• Provide legal assistance to stores, develop guidelines, and support operational training in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Legal and Social Sciences.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in legal functions within a law firm or in the legal department of a company, preferably as a legal advisor or assistant.
• Experience in managing administrative procedures with the Mercantile Registry, the General Archive of Protocols, the SAT, municipalities, the Public Ministry, DIACO, and other government entities.
• Preferably exposure to the regulatory frameworks of El Salvador and Honduras, or willingness to acquire it.
• Excellent legal writing skills and ability to synthesize information.
• Basic-intermediate reading comprehension of English (30% - 40%).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and collaborative tools (SharePoint and Teams).
• Intermediate-advanced level in Excel for managing control matrices.
• Preferably experienced in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems and electronic signatures.
• High initiative and willingness to continuously learn.
• Results-oriented with the ability to find practical solutions.
• Organized and methodical in managing documentation and process follow-up.
• Positive, proactive, and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to work in a team and support other areas.
