Legal Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Draft, review, and revise commercial agreements, including NDAs and vendor contracts.

• Identify key terms, potential risks, and outstanding issues for the legal team.

• Create a searchable database of existing agreements.

• Develop an efficient system for organizing contracts.

• Assess and evaluate AI tools for legal applications.

• Provide organized feedback on the utility, limitations, and accuracy of AI tools.

• Conduct research on legal matters related to privacy, employment, AI, commercial law, and contract law.

• Transform legal research into clear, actionable insights.

• Assist in enhancing legal workflows, documentation, and processes.

• Undertake additional projects as priorities evolve.

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Legal Counsel.

• Engage in interviews with recruiters, hiring managers, and finance leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a J.D. program.

• Hold a completed bachelor's degree.

• Possess strong legal research capabilities.

• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

• Capable of identifying potential legal issues and articulating them clearly and succinctly.

• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

• Comfortable adapting to changing business needs.

• Able to collaborate with individuals across various business functions.

• Show curiosity about the impact of AI on legal work and interest in testing new tools.

• Have an interest in how legal operations function within a technology company.

• No previous experience in-house, in technology, cybersecurity, or commercial contracting is necessary.

• Paid internship at a rate of $30 per hour.

• Part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, arranged around class commitments.
