Legal Counsel, Privacy & Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Material Bank's strategy for data privacy and compliance initiatives, encompassing CCPA, GDPR, and upcoming privacy regulations.

• Provide guidance on product development and user agreements.

• Assist in incident response efforts.

• Advise the marketing team on consumer protection and advertising standards.

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements.

• Establish a legal operations framework.

• Utilize AI and legal technology to enhance the efficiency of the legal function.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, People, and other departments.

• Facilitate swift business growth while managing legal and regulatory risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in the bar.

• Minimum of 5 years of pertinent legal experience.

• Prior in-house experience at a rapidly growing technology firm.

• Extensive knowledge in data privacy.

• Proficient in product counseling.

• Strong understanding of marketing and consumer protection laws.

• Expertise in commercial contracts.

• Excellent legal judgment.

• Ability to adapt to changing environments.

• Business-oriented and practical mindset.

• Preferred experience in legal operations, privacy certifications, and AI-assisted legal tools.
