Legal Counsel – Legal AI Tech Scale-Up

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Prepare and negotiate intricate commercial agreements, such as contracts with enterprise customers, publisher and partner agreements, as well as vendor and procurement terms.

• Provide guidance to Product and Engineering teams on how to translate legal and regulatory requirements into product strategies.

• Transform the Legal function into a demonstration of a fully automated LegalTech department.

• Conduct systematic analysis of Legal processes to pinpoint opportunities for automation and AI integration, and implement them into the redesign of processes.

• Offer advice on company-wide AI initiatives from both a Legal and regulatory standpoint.

• Develop templates, playbooks, escalation thresholds, and self-service guidance for the organization.

• Work collaboratively with the broader team on regulatory requirements, product features, customer negotiations, and procurement discussions.

• Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist:in).

• First and Second State Examination, both achieving above-average results.

• A minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in an international law firm and/or in-house legal environment.

• Ideally, experience in independently drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

• Capability to manage B2B and SaaS agreements from start to finish.

• Proficient in negotiating with enterprise counterparties.

• Genuine enthusiasm for LegalTech and AI regulation, including familiarity with the EU AI Act and confidentiality concerns specific to legal practice.

• A pragmatic and self-motivated approach to work.

• Exceptional drafting abilities in both German and English.
