Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer practical legal guidance regarding commercial and compliance issues, such as vendor and sales agreements, data privacy, and employment law.

• Report to and collaborate as part of the legal team under the General Counsel.

• Take the lead in addressing legal inquiries from sales, procurement, HR, and other departments.

• Draft, review, and negotiate incoming SaaS, service, consultant, and contractor contracts.

• Work in partnership with commercial counsel to facilitate sales transactions.

• Collaborate with employment counsel on compliance policies related to personnel, documentation, training, and daily support for the People team.

• Implement automation, artificial intelligence, and other technologies to enhance the quality and efficiency of the legal team.

• Keep abreast of global legal developments regarding labor, data privacy, and laws related to AI.

• Provide the business with practical, compliant legal solutions that align with corporate objectives based on legal developments.

• Create systems, processes, and metrics that support the growth of the company.

• Execute additional responsibilities as required by the legal team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.

• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with one or more state bars in the United States.

• 4–8 years of legal experience in commercial, operational, or general corporate matters.

• Proficient in drafting and negotiating both inbound and outbound commercial contracts.

• Familiarity with technology/cloud agreements, SaaS service contracts, contractor/consulting agreements, events-related contracts, and other business agreements.

• Capable of analyzing laws, regulations, and policies across various jurisdictions.

• Strong business judgment and risk assessment capabilities.

• Experience utilizing technology such as Zapier for legal process automation, CLM products, and AI tools.

• Ability to operate independently and manage multiple matters in a dynamic environment.

• Excellent writing, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

• Preferred, but not mandatory, combined experience in both law firms and in-house positions at a SaaS or technology company.
