This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Oversee a collection of assigned publications that are accessible both digitally and in print.
β’ Collaborate with authors and follow up to guarantee timely submission of manuscripts in line with the publishing timeline.
β’ Evaluate manuscripts to ensure compliance with author guidelines and offer constructive feedback to authors.
β’ Attract new authors and manage author transitions for publications within the designated portfolio.
β’ Build and sustain relationships with the legal community, including practitioners, academics, judiciary members, librarians, and other external stakeholders.
β’ Serve as a resource for authors and various departments concerning publications in the portfolio.
β’ Utilize legal expertise and analytical skills in the creation and oversight of legal publications.
β’ Assist in maintaining the quality, accuracy, and timely provision of content that supports legal professionals across Canada.
β’ A Canadian law degree, or a law degree from another jurisdiction with a Certificate of Qualification from Canadaβs National Committee on Accreditation.
β’ A minimum of 1 year of experience in practice/articling or legal publishing.
β’ Exceptional organizational abilities and a strong attention to detail.
β’ Capability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines for print, online, and newsletter publications.
β’ Proficient relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-departmental project teams.
β’ Outstanding communication skills (both oral and written) and negotiation capabilities.
β’ Experience using AI as an integral part of workflows, including hands-on experience with LLMs and AI-enabled tools on a daily basis to enhance content and analysis; iterating prompts to improve output quality and consistency.
β’ Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and the Microsoft Office suite.
