Leave of Absence and Accommodation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee all elements of the Employment Practices Group's processes concerning associate leaves of absence, return-to-work procedures, and accommodations.

• Collaborate with the benefits team and third-party LOA administrator to ensure adherence to FMLA, ADA, and other relevant employment legislation.

• Ensure compliance with leave management policies and procedures to reduce legal and financial risks.

• Engage in the ADA interactive process to ascertain reasonable accommodations.

• Facilitate conversations between associates and managers to ensure effective implementation of accommodations.

• Deliver education and training sessions for associates and managers regarding leave policies and accommodation procedures.

• Analyze leave data and accommodation requests to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for enhancement.

• Assist associates and the organization throughout leave processes, return-to-work protocols, and accommodation requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is advantageous.

• 2-4 years of experience in associate leave, accommodations, or a similar field.

• Experience in a large organization or corporate environment is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices regarding leave of absence and accommodations.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Skills in conflict resolution and mediation.

• Problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

• Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
