This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, Pregnancy Worker’s Act, other mandated leaves, and company-specific leaves.
• Provide operational supervision of the third-party leave vendor.
• Administer programs related to accommodations.
• Act as a subject matter expert on leave management in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Offer guidance on intricate employee situations while ensuring adherence to policies and consistent application.
• Handle a substantial caseload of leave and accommodation issues.
• Facilitate the interactive process involving employees, leaders, healthcare providers, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the third-party leave administrator to guarantee operational excellence, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with HR, Safety, Risk, Legal, and external vendors.
• Implement regulatory changes, policy improvements, and process enhancements.
• Analyze data, metrics, and trends related to leave and accommodations, providing actionable recommendations.
• Resolve complex and sensitive matters through effective communication, conflict resolution, and influence.
• Evaluate program performance and suggest improvements to policies, processes, and service models.
• Deliver guidance, training, and consultation to leaders and HR partners.
• Influence stakeholders to promote consistent practices in leave and accommodations.
• Provide strategic consultation, risk assessment, and recommendations concerning leave management, accommodations, and employee support programs.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Proven experience managing a high-volume caseload of complex accommodation and leave issues in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience collaborating with third-party leave vendors.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and consultation skills.
• Ability to navigate sensitive situations and establish trust with employees, leaders, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
• Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Capability to manage multiple competing priorities while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Proficient in HRIS, case management, leave management systems, and MS Office applications.
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and navigating diverse state and local leave requirements.
• May require travel and participation in meetings and conferences across chapter jurisdiction, state, and Red Cross system.
• Union experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of various state leave laws is a plus.
• A consultative mindset is preferred.
