Learning Design Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create learning pathways by converting skill and performance requirements into objectives, structured learning journeys, practice opportunities, assessments, and performance support.

• Lead the design and development of digital, live, virtual, cohort-based, and experiential learning initiatives focused on AI skill development.

• Curate, adapt, and organize both internal and external content into cohesive, role-specific learning experiences.

• Implement adult learning principles, performance consulting, assessment strategies, accessibility standards, and responsible AI practices.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, AI product teams, subject matter experts, facilitators, vendors, and fellow learning professionals.

• Assess needs, validate content, and assist in delivery.

• Oversee design activities, timelines, reviews, dependencies, and risks associated with assigned projects.

• Propose practical solutions in response to shifting priorities.

• Establish measurement strategies and leverage learner feedback, assessment outcomes, proficiency indicators, and performance data to refine learning pathways.

• Develop reusable templates, standards, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and quality of learning design.

• Collaborate closely with the Senior Learning Design Professional and the wider Enterprise Learning - AI Team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, learning design, adult education, learning technologies, organizational development, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 8 years of experience in designing and developing learning solutions.

• Proven experience in translating skill, business, or performance needs into measurable objectives and structured learning experiences.

• Background in supporting AI, emerging technology, digital transformation, or technical-skilling initiatives.

• Extensive knowledge of adult learning principles, performance consulting, accessibility, assessment, and learning evaluation.

• Proficiency in using generative AI and AI-enabled learning tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, or similar platforms.

• Capability to guide design efforts, collaborate across various functions, manage multiple projects, and influence others without direct authority.

• Strong consulting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Up to 10% travel may be necessary.

• Minimum home internet speed of 25 Mbps for downloads and 10 Mbps for uploads.

• Must be able to work from a dedicated space free from continuous interruptions to safeguard member PHI/HIPAA information.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field.

• Preferred: Experience in designing academies, credentials, cohorts, or large-scale technical learning pathways.

• Preferred: Familiarity with skills frameworks, proficiency models, learning experience platforms, or skills-based talent practices.

• Preferred: Experience with Cornerstone OnDemand or a similar learning platform.

• Preferred: Background in health care, insurance, information technology, or another regulated sector.

• Preferred: Relevant certification in instructional design, performance improvement, or learning evaluation.

• Preferred: Experience in designing across a variety of formats including digital, live, virtual, cohort-based, experiential, and performance support.

• Preferred: Experience in developing curricula or learning pathways for technology and enterprise audiences.
