Learning and Development Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and modify New Employee Training programs to ensure effective onboarding.

• Design, create, and deliver training and professional development initiatives aimed at adult learners.

• Provide support for Professional Learning Communities focused on instructional staff.

• Lead and oversee activities associated with the Annual Professional Learning Conference.

• Utilize organizational objectives and data to devise innovative learning solutions.

• Collaborate with supervisors throughout the organization to assess needs and offer tailored training, resources, and support.

• Draft course descriptions, track attendance, and award professional development points for recertification purposes.

• Assess the effectiveness of professional learning sessions, projects, and programs and make necessary adjustments.

• Examine departmental processes and procedures for efficiency and potential improvement opportunities.

• Ensure that professional learning programs align with Florida and national online teaching standards as well as internal policies.

• Keep current documentation and manage shared digital folders.

• Participate in initiatives that foster national growth.

• Work in collaboration with department colleagues on assigned projects.

• Stay informed about trends in the learning and development industry.

• Meet deadlines, adhere to schedules, and effectively coordinate resources and meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Florida Professional Teaching Certificate is preferred.

• Minimum of three years of experience in leading professional learning at the school, district, or corporate level.

• Preferred three years of teaching experience.

• At least one year of online teaching experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with the Florida Professional Learning Standards.

• Knowledge of the National Standards for Quality Online Teaching.

• Ability to implement best practices in training and instructional design principles.

• Understanding of evaluation and analysis methods for content and delivery processes.

• Capability to apply effective instructional methods for adult learners.

• Proficient in writing and evaluating learning objectives.

• Competence in computer operations and Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to quickly acquire new technological skills and assist customers with troubleshooting.

• Skill in evaluating, auditing, deducing, and/or assessing data and information using established criteria.

• Capacity to exercise autonomous judgment in adopting or adjusting methods and standards.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting tight deadlines.

• Ability to apply principles of persuasion and influence.

• Flexibility to work varying shifts to accommodate training schedule requirements.
