Lead, Supply Chain Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as the main interface for Supply Chain/Material Management for designated programs

• Collaborate with Program Management and various cross-functional teams to fulfill program material needs

• Take ownership of and manage the overall material status, which includes material on hand, open purchase orders, purchase requisitions, unfulfilled demand, shortages, quality/inspection issues, supplier recovery actions, and future material requirements

• Direct material readiness and Line of Balance processes to evaluate material availability in relation to production and delivery timelines

• Recognize material risks, opportunities, and constraints while driving root-cause analysis, assessing program impacts, and developing mitigation/recovery strategies with assigned action items and deadlines

• Oversee the material forecasting process, which includes monthly forecast creation, identifying cost and schedule drivers, risks and opportunities, variance assessments, and implementing corrective measures

• Assist in Estimates at Completion, material budgeting, forecast-to-go tasks, variance evaluations, and long-term material planning

• Aid Supply Chain efforts for development and production proposals, which encompass material estimates, supplier strategies, scheduling needs, risks and opportunities, and affordability initiatives

• Provide mentorship to other Material Program Managers (MPMs) and lead intricate material initiatives

• Report to the MPM Manager and may lead as the primary MPM for a significant program, product line, or complex project portfolio

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience

• Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of related experience

• Alternatively, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience without a degree

• Proven experience in Supply Chain, Material Management, Program Management, Procurement, Planning, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field

• Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), production planning, procurement, inventory oversight, and supplier management

• Experience in material forecasting, Estimates at Completion (EACs), financial planning, variance analysis, and risk and opportunity management

• Familiarity with developing or using Line of Balance, material readiness, shortage management, or similar methodologies

• Knowledge of development and production program lifecycles, encompassing design, build, test, qualification, production ramp-up, and full-rate production

• Practical understanding of project and program management principles, including program planning, Integrated Master Scheduling, budgeting, and Earned Value Management

• Experience in supporting government or defense programs and an understanding of the defense acquisition landscape

• Proven leadership skills, initiative, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to function effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
