This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Oversee all quality assurance and testing activities for program initiatives.
• Create and maintain thorough test strategies, plans, and frameworks.
• Manage manual, automated, functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing efforts.
• Set and uphold QA standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Guide and mentor QA engineers, testers, and automation specialists.
• Work with product owners, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to establish quality requirements.
• Design and implement automated testing solutions to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
• Supervise defect management processes and ensure prompt issue resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis and assist with continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, release planning, and deployment activities.
• Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and status reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal security, accessibility, and software development requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality assurance.
• At least 3 years of experience in leading QA teams or functioning in a QA Lead role.
• Familiarity with VA systems, processes, and organizational structure.
• Experience managing healthcare, IT modernization, digital transformation, or clinical support programs within the VA.
• Proven experience supporting federal government IT programs.
• Practical experience with test planning, execution, defect tracking, and quality management processes.
• Skilled in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Capability to obtain and maintain any necessary federal background investigation.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Preferred: experience supporting federal healthcare or health IT systems.
• Preferred: familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, electronic health records, or healthcare data systems.
• Preferred: certifications such as CSQE, ISTQB Advanced Test Manager, CSM, or SAFe Agilist.
• Preferred: experience with cloud-based environments and DevSecOps practices.
• Preferred: experience in supporting enterprise-scale modernization programs.
