This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.
• Implement test plans and test cases as instructed by senior members of the QE team.
• Conduct fundamental functional, regression, and integration testing across Web, API, and/or Data components.
• Identify, document, and track defects using a bug tracking system like Jira, including reproduction steps and their impact.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of test data.
• Help troubleshoot and investigate issues by reproducing defects, collecting logs, and validating fixes.
• Contribute to the development of basic manual and automated test scripts under supervision.
• Engage in team meetings and provide updates on status.
• Communicate the progress of testing, risks, and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Clarify requirements, scope, and expected behavior.
• Complete assigned tasks punctually with close oversight.
• Collaborate to resolve issues and escalate when necessary.
• Adhere to QE standards, processes, and best practices.
• Develop an understanding of the SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Utilize AI-powered code completion tools to aid in the creation of simple test automation scripts.
• Employ AI tools to generate and enhance test case concepts.
• Use AI-enhanced search tools to identify duplicate issues, related tickets, and documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a similar technical position, including internships, co-ops, or academic projects.
• Basic knowledge of software development lifecycles and testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Familiarity with testing concepts and terminology, including test cases, test data, defects, severity, and priority.
• Basic proficiency with operating systems and common software applications.
• Experience with bug tracking systems like Jira.
• Academic or practical exposure to Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java for basic test scripting or automation.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and experience working with user stories.
• Experience using AI-powered tools in academic, personal, or professional settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly articulating issues and test results.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn new tools and processes, and complete tasks with supervision.
• Interest in and readiness to utilize GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and AI test generators.
• Experience with test management tools like Xray or TestRail is advantageous.
