Lead Project Manager, BTM I&C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.

📋 Description

• Evaluate project scope and align it with the GE Vernova quotation during the transition from the Commercial team to Project Management.

• Facilitate internal project kick-off meetings, delegating roles and responsibilities.

• Conduct customer kick-off meetings to communicate the work scope and resolve order-related issues.

• Oversee the execution of intricate substation projects in accordance with contractual obligations, timelines, budget, quality, and safety standards.

• Integrate multiple sub-projects and workstreams into a cohesive project overview.

• Propel planning and execution across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, construction, commissioning, and project handover.

• Establish and uphold project governance, including reviews, action item tracking, decision logs, escalations, and reporting to leadership.

• Track performance metrics while identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks, issues, delays, and cost impacts.

• Assist sub-project leaders and functional teams in addressing cross-functional challenges and eliminating execution obstacles.

• Manage customer communications and facilitate stakeholder collaboration.

• Ensure adherence to contract stipulations, internal processes, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations.

• Oversee change management, including evaluating scope changes, assessing schedule impacts, understanding cost implications, obtaining approvals, and notifying customers.

• Prepare project status reports, forecasts, and executive summaries for leadership review.

• Foster accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement across project teams.

• Support project closure, final deliverables, capturing lessons learned, financial reconciliation, and transitioning to warranty or service phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of pertinent project management experience in substations, grid infrastructure, energy, or large-scale industrial projects.

• A minimum of 3 years of direct site execution experience on substation, grid infrastructure, or extensive industrial/construction projects.

• Proven experience managing project timelines, budgets, quality, and safety deliverables from start to finish.

• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green Card holder); visa sponsorship is not available.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15% on average, up to 20% at peak times, including week-long site visits roughly every 6 weeks.

• Capability to work from a home office/remote setup or one of the designated locations: Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, or La Prairie, Canada.

• Proven track record of managing complex projects with multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and interdependencies.

• Experience in cross-functional and international project settings.

• Strong foundation in project management methodologies, tools, and governance practices.

• Experience collaborating with global or regional stakeholders, ideally in a matrixed setup.

• Experience in substation or grid project environments is highly advantageous.

• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a plus.
