Lead Project Manager, BTM I&C

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.

📋 Description

• Evaluate project scope and compare it against the GEV quote during the transition from the Commercial team to Project Management.

• Facilitate internal project kick-off meetings, assigning roles and responsibilities effectively.

• Conduct customer kick-off meetings, outlining the work scope and addressing order-related queries.

• Oversee the execution of intricate substation projects in alignment with contractual scope, timelines, budgets, quality, and safety standards.

• Integrate multiple sub-projects and workstreams into a cohesive project overview.

• Propel planning and execution across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

• Establish and uphold project governance, encompassing project reviews, action tracking, decision logs, escalation management, and leadership reporting.

• Track performance metrics while identifying, evaluating, and addressing risks, issues, delays, and cost implications.

• Assist sub-project leaders and functional teams in overcoming cross-functional challenges and eliminating execution obstacles.

• Manage communication with customers and coordinate with stakeholders.

• Ensure adherence to contract stipulations, internal procedures, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations.

• Drive change management, including evaluations of scope alterations, schedule repercussions, cost implications, approvals, and customer notifications.

• Prepare and present project status updates, forecasts, and executive summaries to leadership.

• Foster accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement within project teams.

• Support the project closure process, including final deliverables, lessons learned, financial finalization, and transition to warranty or service phases.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of relevant project management experience in substations, grid infrastructure, energy, or similarly large and complex industrial projects.

• Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, quality, and safety deliverables from start to finish.

• Minimum of 3 years of direct site execution experience in substation, grid infrastructure, or large-scale industrial/construction projects.

• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green Card holder); visa sponsorship is not available.

• Willingness and ability to travel 15% on average, with potential peaks up to 20%, including week-long site visits approximately every 6 weeks.

• Capable of working from a home office/remote setup or one of the designated locations (Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, or La Prairie, Canada).

• Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with various workstreams, stakeholders, and interdependencies.

• Experience in cross-functional and international project environments.

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks.

• Experience collaborating with global or regional stakeholders, preferably in a matrixed environment.

• Excellent leadership and coordination abilities in complex, multi-workstream project settings.

• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and drive execution with a structured, proactive approach.

• Exceptional communication, coordination, and organizational skills.

• Strong problem-solving, risk awareness, and decision-making capabilities.

• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of French is an advantage.
