Lead Product Manager – Trust & Safety

📋 Description

• Lead the strategy and roadmap for the Trust & Safety product, transforming business risks and user insights into a well-defined, prioritized plan.

• Transition the function from a reactive incident response model to a proactive, intelligence-led fraud prevention approach.

• Develop the Risk Engine, including data signal intelligence, anomaly detection, and investigative tools.

• Deliver AI-driven Trust & Safety product experiences in collaboration with Data Science and Engineering, utilizing ML models, LLMs, and behavioral signals.

• Balance the need for fraud mitigation with growth protection, making informed trade-off decisions based on evidence.

• Define and monitor success metrics for Trust & Safety, such as fraud loss rates, false positive/negative rates, time-to-resolution, user trust scores, and financial exposure.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to achieve desired outcomes.

• Develop instrumentation, monitoring, and evaluation capabilities for assessing fraud rates, detection model efficacy, and user impact.

• Create business cases that quantify fraud losses and the ROI of prevention investments; secure necessary resources and drive prioritization.

• Ensure that products and strategies comply with local and regional legal, compliance, and security requirements.

• Utilize AI for threat analysis, synthetic user research, specification drafting, and experimentation workflows.

• Represent Trust & Safety at the leadership level, articulating strategy, risk posture, and outcomes to executive stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive product management experience within the digital sector, including consumer-facing platforms, marketplaces, mobility, e-commerce, classifieds, fintech, or similarly large-scale environments.

• Demonstrated experience managing trust-related products or areas such as Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Risk, Identity & Verification, Marketplace Integrity, Account Security, Abuse Prevention, Payments Risk, or Compliance Technology.

• Proven track record in developing scalable systems that proactively detect, prevent, and mitigate issues related to abuse, fraud, or risk, rather than relying on manual processes.

• Strong analytical and data-driven approach, with a history of defining success metrics, assessing impact, and making prioritization choices based on data and measurable results.

• Experience collaborating closely with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and other cross-functional teams to deliver complex products in regulated or high-risk settings.

• Experience in vendor management and collaboration.

• Familiarity with building, deploying, or working alongside machine learning, AI, risk scoring, decision-making, detection, recommendation, or automation systems.

• Proven ability to balance user experience, marketplace growth, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, taking charge of complex problem areas, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving strategy and execution across multiple teams.

• Strong foundational product skills applicable across various fraud domains.

• Experienced in developing and refining core Data (Science) products at scale.

• Background in creating trust, risk, fraud, or safety products across diverse international markets and regulatory landscapes (preferred).

• Knowledge of emerging regulations and industry trends impacting online platforms, digital marketplaces, payments, AI, and consumer trust (preferred).
