Lead Product Manager – Trust & Safety

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead the product strategy and roadmap for Trust & Safety initiatives.

• Convert business risks and user insights into a well-defined, prioritized action plan.

• Transition from a reactive approach to incident management to a proactive, intelligence-driven fraud prevention model.

• Develop the Risk Engine, encompassing data signals intelligence, anomaly detection, and investigation tools.

• Deliver AI-native Trust & Safety product experiences utilizing machine learning models, large language models (LLMs), and behavioral signals.

• Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams to design, prototype, and implement real-time detection and decision-making systems.

• Balance fraud reduction efforts with marketplace growth while ensuring a positive experience for legitimate users.

• Define and monitor Trust & Safety metrics, including fraud loss rates, false positive/negative rates, time-to-resolution, user trust scores, and financial exposure.

• Effectively communicate the impact of initiatives to senior leadership in business terminology.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams.

• Develop instrumentation, monitoring, and evaluation capabilities for fraud rates, model performance, and user/contributor effects.

• Create business cases that quantify fraud losses and the return on investment (ROI) for prevention measures.

• Acquire resources and promote data-driven prioritization.

• Ensure that products and strategies comply with local and regional legal, security, and compliance standards.

• Utilize AI for threat analysis, synthetic user research, specification development, and experimentation pipelines.

• Represent Trust & Safety at the leadership level and present strategy, risk posture, and outcomes to executive stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive product management experience in the digital sector, particularly in consumer-facing platforms, marketplaces, mobility, e-commerce, classifieds, fintech, or similar high-scale environments.

• Demonstrated experience in owning trust-related products or areas such as Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Risk Management, Identity & Verification, Marketplace Integrity, Account Security, Abuse Prevention, Payments Risk, or Compliance Technology.

• Proven history of developing scalable systems that proactively identify, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, risk, or other trust-related challenges.

• Strong analytical and data-driven approach, including defining success metrics, assessing impact, and making prioritization choices based on concrete evidence and measurable results.

• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and other cross-functional teams in regulated or high-risk settings.

• Experience with vendor management and collaboration.

• Background in building, deploying, or closely working with machine learning, AI, risk scoring, decision-making, detection, recommendation, or automation systems.

• Capability to balance user experience, marketplace growth, operational efficiency, and risk management.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing complex problem spaces, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving strategy and execution across various teams.

• Strong foundational product skills that are applicable across fraud domains.

• Proficient in developing and iterating core Data (Science) products at scale.

• Experience across multiple international markets and regulatory environments is a plus.

• Familiarity with emerging regulations and industry trends impacting online platforms, digital marketplaces, payments, AI, and consumer trust is advantageous.
